FYI: I have been playing around with different mixer programs and the found that the text-based alsamixer *can* control the output level of the MP3+ using the "speaker 1" control. "Speaker" doesn't do anything, nor does "PCM" or "PCM 1", and there is no "master" or "line in" control.
So it seems that there is some mapping missing between the mixer controls and the actual hardware. Where can I change this mapping? I have also noticed some "clicking" in the sound during MP3 playback - not present on the computer's built-in ESS Maestro soundcard. Any ideas?
