Following another suggestion I had a few minutes ago, I ran

amadmin Daily disklist

The 'program' listed was DUMP so I added

program 'GNUTAR' to my disklist to give

xxx    /etc    {
    nocomp-user
    program "GNUTAR"
}

amadmin now says GNUTAR but the same error comes up in the report.

0.4b19 so I'll get the latest version
