First, I suggest using the real host name rather than "localhost".
You'll be much happier keeping things apart later.
Did you run amcheck? Did it have anything to say?
Are you using dump or GNU tar? Many versions of dump will not deal
with subdirectories of a file system. If that's what you want to do,
you may have to use GNU tar.
