Huh? Amdump still complains about /etc? Is amcheck still happy?
What's in /tmp/amanda/sendsize*debug on the client?
What version of GNU tar do you have? If it's 1.12, you need to apply
the Amanda patches from the web page. If it's 1.13, you should be at
1.13.19 -- almost anything earlier has problems.
