No, AFAIK it doesn't, and you probably don't want to copy the tarballs around before running amdump. As I understood you are mounting the NAS share to your amanda server using CIFS. Then maybe a modified version of my suggestion does the thing: Run a script on the amanda server which creates the subdir/latest directories on the mounted NAS share, move (not copy) the latest tarballs there, run amdump and move the tarballs back to their original location afterwards.
