Hi,
Have been using Amanda for years on Ubuntu and backups were ok until
about 4 days ago.
I received an Amanda Report containing the following

Hostname: ml.zudiewiener.com
Org : MyConfig
Config : MyConfig
Date : November 26, 2013
These dumps were to tape MyConfig30.
The next tape Amanda expects to use is: MyConfig01.
FAILURE DUMP SUMMARY:
ml.zudiewiener.com /home/llist lev 0 FAILED [/usr/libexec/amanda/runtar
terminated with signal 11: see
/var/log/amanda/client/MyConfig/sendsize.20131126030003.debug]

Checking the .debug file, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
The following morning, the system just hung and after a reboot I checked
the syslog and saw that the system was logging until 03:00 AM (which is
when the backup starts) after which there were no more log entries. I
rebooted and the same thing happened again the next morning.
I checked the kernel log and saw the following:
general protection fault: 0000 [#2] SMP

I think it's related to the tar porcess, but not sure what to try next,
but right now I can't use amanda
