Huh?  Its already in the raspian jessie repo's.  Works fine when the 
pi-3b is a client.  Been using it that way for 6 or so months.  It is 
just 2 more entries in my disklist file here on this sever.

#$> sudo apt install amanda-client

Add 2 entries in your disklist, one for /boot, and one for /, setup an 
excludes file on the pi, point to it in the recipe used in your 
amanda.conf.

Use amcheck $configname and it will tell you what else to do on the pi to 
make your first level 0 backup during your regular nightly session 
tonight.
