Hi,
first, Lee you're right, we should answer users in a professional manner... BUT, trust me, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and I totally understand Jerome for answering the guy like that.. dman, you try a product, it doesn't work, you go looking at "how to do it" before asking the devels... anyways, there are to omany stupid n00bs out there :@ and that's what makes me loose my temper from time to time.. I mean, just today, I had a stupid question about webcam crashing, and the guy didn't even look at the forum, I've received so many people complainging about webcam not working when they use the pwc driver (the problem comes from the driver) that I've made the thread that talks about it in my bookmarks!!! (I never needed more than 3 bookmarks, one for tcl commands, one for tk commands and one for amsn SF page and now the pwc thread...).. anyways, I answered the guy, gave him the solution, said you should launched the "set command" with whatever argument, read the forum to find the exact command to execute... today he comes back and said "as XXX said, I commented these lines, do I need to do it everytime I download the cvs? or can I overwrite the cvs msncam.tcl file with my modified version"!!! damn, that guy is crazy, first, he didn't look at the forum, secondly, he didn't ever see that the lines he commented were all inside an if { $::webcam_settings_bug == 1} and even more, he comes back asking such a stupid question.. what the hell do you think will happen if you overwrite the file, you'll probably create more bugs to your local copy!!! anyways, this kind of behavior, I see it every day and I have to answer these questions every time, it's really frustrating! I think we should close the SF forums, keep only the recording grounds forum, have sticky notes, forum Rules, and if we get an answer like that, we just close the thread with the "read the rules/faq or you'll be banned", that would be soooo nice!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly don't give a dman about loosing such stupid users!!! honnestly! I mean, fuck them, if we loose 100 of users, it's not that bad, we still have 4000 downloads a day.. I wonder how much it will be once we release 0.95... and also, they really don't deserve we answer them... we're not here to waste time because those bastards are too lazy and stupid!!!
ouff, that felt good :)
anyways, Phil, you're right also, but that guy for example downloaded the CVS version, because he wanted the webcam I guess or some new features and there are no rpms for cvs.. I don't know what you talked about, something you did... what was that, can I get an F5 (refresh :P) ? About creating the debian directory, I think it's a good idea, we should probably create the debian dir, have a "make rpm" that would create rpms using already prepared spec files and anything else that can be done is also welcomed... Now, back to the latest post of Lee, I like the idea of klik, but we're already supposed to add support for autopackage... isn't it the same (besides the url..) ? what's the big differences/advantages/disadvantages of using klik over autopackage ?

Thanks all,
KaKaRoTo

Phil: SUSE uses .rpm too

I think we should look into klik as an addition to the rpm, deb,
tarball, etc. packages. It allows you to run an application with 1
single click. The only requirement is to download the klik client.
The klik client then does the rest of the work. For example, let's
say I want to install the latest amarok. I'll run:
klik://amarok-svn-nightly

It will take a look at the recipe for amarok-svn-nightly, download its
deps. and launch amarok-svn-nightly. I think this would be an
excellent way to approach cvs-snapshots.

Klik does not yet support all distros, but with more people testing,
it could get there soon.

I have been using klik for quite a while now, and it is a great way to
try software without installing. (note: i've tried new betas of kde
and e17 with klik)

A new linux user will use RPMs and he won't have to do any make or

You can use my amazing system to create RPMs and next distribute them !!
(I must throw to me flowers since nobody reply to my previous mail...... :'( ) Well I would like someone does the same to generate debian packages. With that we would be able to make packets with CVS and create beta versions easily
without the help of external packagers who don't have only that to do !!
Hey COME ON guys I want a reply even if it is silly :p
How many distros use the RPM system ?? I have a Fedora, Mandriva uses it
too... Which else ??
