Hum...
If I remind well I tested with the test.jpg in demos and had 1.4 ratio
and with a big png (1648x2309 for 2.6MB : a page of a very boring french 
curse) 1.2

Haven't the code under the eyes for now but I will look at this at my return 
from holidays...
