ah ok.. that's not good, I guess.. are you sure we can't access a node
directly, modify it and tell tkhtml to refresh ?
if no, did anyone post this enhancement request to the tkhtml team ?

ok.. but afaik, it's said that 'we won't use it'.. maybe it was because we were
expecting to use tkhtml from tom's
work.. don't know. Anyways, if it's not the plan to throw it away, then I
suggest we switch to that new CL, so if all
agree, we should add in the latest SVN enable the new canvas CL and have it
replace the old one (not as a separate
window, but instead directly in the main window). This way, we'll be sure it's
gonna be used, tested and bugfixed. So we
can have this all new performant CL.
btw, iirc it was a lot better in performance, am i right or did it loose its
efficiency once it got more advanced
features incorporated ? if it's better, then we should definitely use it as we
have so many reports on the forums of
people having 200 (sometimes 400+)_ contacts who complain about amsn being
unusable and I think it's a shame to tell
them "you need to hide your offline group" since it shows that our code is poor
and it's not a good solution since some
people want their offline group expanded.

yeah I know, I just LOVE them :) especially the CL window... I'd really like to
see that in the new 'offline' CL. As I
said before, I'd like work to be done on the profiles and have the new profile
system set up because the current one is
SO ugly, so bad, so unusable and so un-user friendly to any new user... it's so
not intuitive.. so we should really
change that.

So to summarize, my proposition is : incorporate the new CL officially, EVEN if
it's unusable, it will just force us to
fix the bugs, othewise we'll never do it.
And start working on the offline main window with the new easy 'remember/forget
me' profiling GUI.
