I have been testing several log analysis tools and so far Analog is the
best by far. It has the best output and customization of the ones that I
have seen unless I want to spend a bundle of money. Even in that case,
Analog is VERY close to the high price stuff. It is GREAT!

There are couple of things I'd like to see added so I am going to brush up
on my C and see what I can do to help add these things for myself and
others. I'd like to see some referrer stats by keyword. That will
probably be my second project as that is more involved C and I'm not ready
for that yet. My first project will be to "rebuild" a group of files
output from Analog into one large file. For some of the reports I'd like
to have both an alphabetical report and right after it a report by pages.
The alpha report provides a list of every referrer so I can lookup visitors
and the pages report tells me who is tops among all of the referrers.
Because I can only output one report at a time, I'll build a batch file
with two config files and output both reports and make it one report
through my coding. Both of these modules will be offered to the author to
distribute with Analog.

Is there anything that others would like to have added that is associated
with these two modules, especially the rebuild module? What could I add
that would help others?

Help Needed
-----------

I have been trying to get a portion of the Host Report to work and I guess
my old age is affecting my brain as I cannot get it to work. In the
following example, *.dialip.mich.com (my ISP) has multiple ports that I
connect to for accessing the Internet. I want them to show only as one
line, in essence *.mich.com.

Output

Config
======

HOSTOUTPUTALIAS .mich.com "*.dialip.mich.com dialup"

I've tried a few variations of the HOSTOUTPUTALIAS (mostly as HOSTALIAS)
but I cannot get it to work. Where am I going wrong? I don't need all of
those lines (and that is just a few of them) in the report. One line with
all of the access included on that line is sufficient for my needs. Any
help to get this going is appreciated. My apologies if this is crystal
clear and I am too dumb to understand it.

I am also trying to get less lines for my browser reports, both summary and
full. I'd like to combine all of the "Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE
3.02;", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01;", "Mozilla/2.0 (compatible;
MSIE 3.0;", and so on into a line for each MS IE version at the high level:
IE3 IE4, and IE5.

I've tried several things, with quotes and without quotes, with slashes,
and without slashes, and nothing works.

FULLBROWOUTPUTALIAS /MSIE 3/ */(compatible; MSIE 3/*

These ALIAS commands are so useful yet I cannot seem to master them.
Again, any and all help is appreciated.

TIA

Mike
