At least sorta. :)
My tech support proposed I include an .htaccess file (which includes
"FollowSymLinks") in my paxp.com directory. With a symbolic link to the
image directory at /usr/src/analog/images/, even this did not work.
I copied the image files to www.paxp.com/web/analimg/. Changing the
IMAGEDIR to the URL (http://www.paxp.com/analimg/) and running against the
paxp.com log file, I actually got images. So at least I knew they were
readable. Changed the LOGFILE to run against the www.teachout.org logs and
lost the images.
About this time, I got tipped to the whereabouts of my errors file
(previously had no clue where it was). Checked the error log and found
that analog was providing, free gratis, the path to the domain where the
target log file resided - in addition to the path I was providing with
IMAGEDIR in analog.cfg. Changed IMAGEDIR to read simply /analimg/. No
images, but at least the <img > tag in the OUTFILE was correct.
Made a symbolic link in teachout.org pointing to the analimg directory in
paxp.com. No go; but now the error log complains about teachout.org not
being allowed to follow symbolic links! OOOOOOOO Bright Light!
Copied the .htaccess file from paxp.com to teachout.org. Ran analog. Fell
out of my chair! Images!!!!! Lots of them!!!
Next step, I suppose (unless someone warns me against it for some reason),
is to copy the .htaccess file to each of my domains and to make the
symbolic link in each domain pointing to the analimg directory in paxp.com.
Hope this narrative helps someone else - and REALLY hope that I don't send
a bunch of people off in the wrong direction!
