hmm ...
very often when one compiles software, for example ssh-1.2.27, then one must do the
following:
./configure
make
make install
With analog, one just does "make" ... and the rest you should do yourself. Thus, why
isn't there a
"make install" script? Hmm, since I'm quite new to this list, I pressume there must
have already
been a discussion about this countless times.
I first installed analog using the FreeBSD ports system, and all was done for me. I
pressume that
the analog rpm works in the same way ... however, it's also nice to compile it
yourself, as I did
with analog 4.02 on FreeBSD and 4.02 on Red Hat 5.2.
I found the README was very well written, I had few problems ... and even the error
messages
worked even better than -w in perl :-)
Maybe ... if not a "make install", then a sort "How-TO" for analog? Hmm, I would like
to make this
very good program accessible to all wanting to run it on a Freenix box.
cheers,
tim
