Do you have gzip? It isn't standard on MSDOS systems. The 'file not found'
may be an error produced by the shell, because your uncompress command points
to a non-existent program?
A precompiled binary of gzip for DOS can now be downloaded from
http://www.gzip.org/:
ftp://ftp.freesoftware.com/pub/infozip/MSDOS/gzip124.exe
(It used to be free from cygnus systems until they were bought by the "open
source" baby, Red Hat, and turned all there production mainly commercial --
go figure...)
