Thanks for your help.
I did what you suggest with no problems, either with gzip or analog, but
still can't use the UNCOMPRESS feature without crashing the computer. As
the files uncompress manually, I cannot think why they would not do so
when piped. The fact that the DOS window shows the first filename at the
moment of crashing (and the software works on the single file which is
uncompressed, with the uncompress feature commented out) would seem to
indicate that the paths are OK, and the gzip file is OK so ????? Would
be grateful if a ray of light shines on Wilberforce Rd. :-)
