What do you mean by a "word text document"? Microsoft Word is perfectly
happy to open a text file, but it's still a text file, not a Word
document.

Analog doesn't care what extension your logfile has, as long as you tell
Analog where to find the file.

What error message do you get?

That depends on what error message you get.

Forget about the desktop. Open a Command prompt and run Analog from the
command line. That way you can see what error messages are generated, if
any, and get to understand the filepaths to your files.

If it starts with # it's a comment, and is ignored.

You'll need to put quotes around any path that has a space in it.
