If word is opening the file on download (within IE) then you need to
right-click and select "Save As" so Word doesn't destroy the format of
the file.

If the files are being save right to the desktop from your ftp
program, then you need to point Analog to where they are. This depends
on the version of Windows you are running (you are running windows,
right, not a Mac, or?). Might be better to save them to the analog
directory so they are easier to find.

They are right on the desktop.
Ok I figured out enough about dos to get this error message:
F Can't autodetect format of logfile (name of log file) ignoring it
and the docs say:
Can't auto-detect format of logfile
The LOGFORMAT is set to automatic detection, but the first line of the logfile is not in any of the standard formats. This error can often be generated when you try and specify your own LOGFORMAT but put it after the LOGFILE command so that it is not in effect for that logfile.
I haven't specified a logformat, was hoping I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have to worry about it.

and....
Failed to open output file for writing
Analog couldn't create, or couldn't write to, the output file you specified.

So now what?
