That's one option although you usually don't want to do that, for
various reasons. He's probably talking about logging to syslog which in
turn forwards it to remote loghost. With something like syslog-ng
running on the loghost (syslog-ng has advanced filtering capabilities
and other bells and whistles, compared to plain old syslog).
