How about getAssignedStorage returns a directory appropriate for an application. Then there's a platform level interface that lets users choose where that should be, move it contents intact, clear it, whatever. > If manufacturers think what they are doing is super great and want to have > app developers support it, there is nothing stopping them from defining > their own third party API to allow it. By expressing disinterest and thus abdicating this to the device manufacturers, you are inviting them to do things in ways you may find more unpleasant than the worst solution you could come up with. And if they ship enough supersetted phones, you are going to have your future options for the evolution of the android platform constrained by their design decisions. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
