You are certainly welcome to your opinion.

Others in the community may value markets that offer integrated 
standardized benchmarks, so they can simply say "works well with a 
CaffeineMark score of X or better" in one form or fashion and increase 
their odds of users getting a good result. This is even more important 
for fee-based apps, as you normally want to get a handle on performance 
before you pay, not after.

I think it's ideas like Al's integrated-benchmark, along with nimbleness 
of execution, that will help markets like hold their own the stock 
Android Market. But, maybe that's just me.

Hopefully, he can find a way to integrate these sorts of things yet not 
somehow detract from developers like yourself who offer, in your own 
apps, a more-related benchmark that will give more-relevant figures.
