I will second your concerns in regards to the delivery fee. It is completely unacceptable. I contacted another HTC Dream reseller that has an office in Canada. The phone costs $657. Shipping by a UPS competitor is $37.50 and with a bit of research the most that would be charged extra for processing all conceivable tariffs is another $25. These phones are coming from either Delaware USA or Hong Kong PRC. Same charges.
Brightstar seems to be a meddling intermediary that is utilizing another supply chain outsourcing company (UPS) to deliver discounted phones. There seems to be a $200 delivery charge premium for delivering to Canada from the USA. I love linux, I love google, I have a crush on Android, but I can't see myself paying that premium. If the extra money was going to Android devs or linux support, or even Google I would go for it. But if there is $200 going to some supply chain dweebs (granted it's a multibillion dollar dweeb) a with a pretty webpage -- fahgetabootit! I will get my G1 for development purposes some other way (although that little android guy on the back of the dev phone is awesome :) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
