Welcome to the general public. :) Due to lack of enough categories I posted my free app in the "lifestyle" section and people misunderstood what it was. So people either praised it or bashed. I pay little attention as the niche market I made it for is interested and apparently enjoying its use. In general the public when they express themselves tend to be cynical. The only way they can feel big is to put something down. Your real customers will contact you through your support email if you have one. I don't have G1 (which is in some ways less of a phone than I currently own) but I should be able to help the folks who post comments so they understand it was for a niche market. And it certainly isn't the only niche market item there.
Google seemed put together the Market blindly without looking at how other phone and PDA commerce sites work. This was probably at the behest of their lawyers who didn't want to be sued in case an interface was similar to those sites. But it lends itself to a very bumpy beginning which we hope over (a short) time gets corrected.
