I would love a 2+ percent conversion rate, but that is not normal in my experience. One of my free games has over two hundred thousand downloads, is currently rated as #5 in popularity according to androidstats.com, and is listed as a "top free app" on the android market website http://www.android.com/market/
The paid version is the 15th most popular paid game according to androidstats.com, is listed as a "top paid app" on the android market website http://www.android.com/market/ but my conversion rate is 0.7% 0.7% is definitely a sad conversion rate if you ask me. There is a free version, but I still get returns daily on the paid version, people just being cheap I guess. I have two other games on the market, 1 of them has a free version with over 150,000 downloads, 0.1% conversion rate. The other game has a free game with less than 50,000 downloads but has a 4.4% conversion rate, so overall I don't completely know what to think of conversion rates you would think more free downloads equals more paid downloads but it doesn't seem to be the case for me. I just think have 2 out of 3 games have a free to paid conversion rate of less than 1% is sad. I agree with Evil Mushroom Lord though, with all of the devices coming out in the future hopefully userbase will increase, which should mean more sales. ---scntln www.snctln.com On May 8, 6:29 am, Evil Mushroom Lord <[email protected]> wrote: > no--- some get the free version-- then get the paid--- play with it > for an hour (or in some cases hours lol) or so then refund it. > > My theory is still that there just simply needs to be a ton more > people using Android and things will get more happy. > > Screen shots in market and other market enhancements would be nice as > well. > > My conversion rate for Android is 2.6%. afaik 5-10% is a more normal > number from my own experiences on other platforms and talking with > devs on other platforms.
