These problems have been mentioned repeatedly.  Other developers have
started threads on every mailing list about this, including creating
official "issue" on the google coders site.  Unfortunately, very few
developers have actually chimed in on those threads, which makes it
look like not very many developers think there is a problem.  I doubt
that is the case, but if we don't speak up about these problems (am I
mean in a concerted way on single centralized discussions instead of
sporadic new threads all over the place), then how can we complain
that nothing is done about them?

Keep the following old, existing threads alive by posting and voicing
your support for their requests and suggestions:
