What protocol is used ? https ? For web access to gmail I have the option in gmail to force https. Does it impact the way the android gmail application communicates ? Also, while testing a proxy solution to connect to the web from my PC via my phone (3G connection), I was surprised that firefox (3.5 beta) complained about gmail.com https certificate ! Looks like it does not connect directly to the regular site... I will check it better to know where this certificate is from and why it is ok for android browser but not firefox....
