I am not personally entering an application in ADC2, but for none of your reasons. I think the latter two reasons are valid concerns, though I wouldn't find either of them to be show-stoppers. The first two concerns, though, may be based on your legal counsel's interpretation of the T&Cs -- FWIW, I disagree with that interpretation...but IANAL. > - The T&Cs allow Google or anyone in the OHA to develop an identical app > and you can't seek compensation Google or anyone in the OHA already have the ability to develop an identical app, and your ability to seek compensation is limited to any copyrights, patents, or trademarks they may violate. IMHO, ADC2 does not materially change that situation...but IANAL. > * Entering ADC2 gives Google a license to distribute the app for free Only to "the Community and Expert Judges", which is a requirement to actually, y'know, be judged...but IANAL. > So if Google want to "promote" Android by bundling your app for free, then > you've just agreed to that. IMHO, that clause does not say that (distribution is only to the aforementioned groups, and "promote" does not imply further distribution)...but IANAL. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com Android App Developer Books: http://commonsware.com/books.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
