Er, I think you'll discover that "I assumed I'd have more time than you told me I would have" doesn't fly very often.
If the site opened for only 24 hours, that would be one thing. However, it opened before the deadline and provided plenty of time to submit. Unless it crashes or has other upstream problems, it is exactly the deadline they said you'd have - end of August.
