Well lb, the top apps on AndAppStore get several hundred downloads per
week and the AndAppStore client clocks in 4 or 5 thousand downloads
per week directly from the AndAppStore site, so I guess there are
people who don't share your view. Yes, this isn't in the same league
as Market, but it shows that many users prefer a simple download to
the hoops involved in a market enabler because many of those downloads
come from devices which already have Market installed.

As with any sellable item you can limit yourself to one distribution
channel and the restrictions it brings (e.g. limiting sales to the
countries who can access paid apps on Market), or you can make use of
other distributions channels available, because, at the end of the
day, if it takes 5 minutes to list your app, costs you nothing, and
never brings in a single sale, then you've only lost 5 minutes of
time, but on the the other hand, if you end up with a few hundred
sales then it's 5 minutes well spent.
