Sorry to bump this, but all the differing opinions here have still left me a little confused. Answers to these questions should clear things up:
1. Is T-Mobile the only U.S. carrier for G1s? (i.e. will any SIM- locked U.S. G1 I buy be locked in favor of T-Mobile?) 2. Has anyone in the U.S. tried using a prepaid SIM in a SIM-locked G1 and then using the phone for testing (or similar) purposes with no SIM after that?
