Just wanted to chip-in and ask respectfully for an unlocked device for
development purposes.

I came to Android from the Symbian world and there Nokia has this nice
program where they loan phones to developers for a specified amount of
time (don't remember exactly how much time it was, I think a month or
so).

It would be great if HTC would provide such a service! Of course, the
developer would have to pay a yearly fee or so to be enrolled in the
program. But I think it would be a huge success. Also, HTC could use
this opportunity to create a "warm fuzzy feeling" within the developer
community with such a program.

Just my 2c.
