A loaner program, certainly a possibility. However devices don't cost
much to produce any more, while the cost to set up and run such a
program remains constant at best. Cost would quickly outstrip the
benefit. To make the relevant devices available at cost/steep discount
would be the way to go in my view.

Hmm, "warm and fuzzy"... would be nice if the "dark side" would
actually engage in a dialog (notable exceptions are some of the
Android engineers that post out here in the cold).
