And are they global or US-only? I can't argue that G1s specifically are probably declining in market share, but I look at it as a good example of a first-generation Android handset. IOW, it represents the 66% of handsets (according to http://developer.android.com/resources/dashboard/platform-versions.html) which are still on v1.x, with HVGA non-AMOLED screen, 528MHZ processor, and so on. As such, it's still 2/3 of the market in my mind. Although you undoubtedly have a point about sales and 1.x devices... I'd basically stopped buying apps when I was only on a G1, simply because of the space consideration you cite. Overall, I suspect most sales go to new handset owners - has anyone seen any statistics about this?
