I know, some people won't have a facebook account. What I'm thinking about is driving sales for developers and hooking into something like facebook social graph. Getting greater exposure to the apps will help drive developer revenue. Inventing my own social network won't help drive the sales at all. So I would be placing a bet here that hooking into an external network would be better overall.
I can possibly bifurcate things like login (between facebook and zapp accounts), it would just mean that you would see general comments and recommendations.
