I've noticed a wide disparity between downloads and actual users who've used the app at least once. For instance, in the developer console, I see 549,180 downloads but from my server records I see 492,475 devices have actually run the app at least once. Could it be that 50,000 people have downloaded the app and never run it? I find that difficult to believe. I track users by their Android ID, not their Google account, so if they got a new device and downloaded the app, it could count as a new user.
Perhaps when a user uninstalls the app, then goes back and reinstalls it, that counts as another download. My system would track that as an existing user, not a new one. -John Coryat -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
