I've always left the phone number blank in my profile as I've never
taken phone tech support calls and most all issues are easily resolved
by email. But the other day when getting my code for LVL the form
insisted on a phone number. Clicking on "why we ask for this" it says
it is for Android to be able to contact me and the number not given to
third parties. I believe a customer is a "third party." Anyway I got a
call early this morning from a customer. When I asked how they got the
number they said it came with the email. I went to the console and
tried leaving it blank but it won't take anything but a phone number so
I've used a "movie" (555) prefix for the time being.
And the customer's question was that they bought the app and it didn't
download. That's a Market issue anyway not the developers. I just
suggested they try downloading again and if they still have a problem
contact the Market.
