I do monitor the mailing list and don't have the time to answer the same
topics over and over again. If I would do that again, as I did in the
beginning, I wouldn't have the time to develop the software.

Well, given the history of the Android Market I would not expect this change
to be intentional, but just chalk it up as another screw up.
