In the last two months Amazon have "gone public" with their #Android app store, 
and now have an alternative to GAE which I know a number of developers use for 
the server side of their apps. To me it looks like Amazon are positioning 
themselves to offer a parallel to Googles offering for most *developers* needs 
(the reason I stress developers is that there isn't a currently announced user 
suite to match Gmail, Calendar, etc.).

That's why I'm floating the out-there idea the Amazon *might* start getting 
actively involved in Android development to make it suit their needs (either 
via a fork as some companies have done, or via joining the OHA), and it is only 
that, an idea, but it's one I can see has potential so I'm interested to hear 
what others think.

After all this is the water cooler list, not a news service :).
