In the last two months Amazon have "gone public" with their #Android app store, and now have an alternative to GAE which I know a number of developers use for the server side of their apps. To me it looks like Amazon are positioning themselves to offer a parallel to Googles offering for most *developers* needs (the reason I stress developers is that there isn't a currently announced user suite to match Gmail, Calendar, etc.).
That's why I'm floating the out-there idea the Amazon *might* start getting actively involved in Android development to make it suit their needs (either via a fork as some companies have done, or via joining the OHA), and it is only that, an idea, but it's one I can see has potential so I'm interested to hear what others think. After all this is the water cooler list, not a news service :). Al.
