Can someone tell me if there is anything that would stop someone from
setting up a web site or store which is basically a backup archive of
different versions of free Android market applications?
(Yes, free application only. No paid apks)

i.e. someone/user download applications from Android market, backup on
his phone, upload it online and then share it to the public.

If there isn't, why didn't web sites like appbrain, androlib.com,
cyrket.com provide the apks to download?
If there is, can someone explain?

I know there are some kind people who have setup such web site to
share their Android applications backup, so that those without access
to Android market can access apks, but I have yet to see a large scale
version of this....

Would someone me tell me why? or is there already one somewhere?
