I recognized your screen name and have used your app at length, so I thought I'd chime in. I think it was my first purchased app.
I purchased Electrum on my first Android phone almost 1.5 yrs ago, and the only reason I didn't use it more is because of the size of the screen. I noticed that I could import audio files and set up a whole library of loops which was a great surprise (TR-909 sequencer capabilities vs the TR-606 I was expecting), but the tiny screen of a phone made the user experience a chore. I think the purpose of making a tablet specific version of this kind of app is that it's an in-between step that can be a ton of fun for people who want to sequence some beats. If I want to make a pro track, I'll fire up some really expensive software on a more capable machine. If I want to make 1-2 bar loops for a few minutes on the subway, I'd use my phone. But, the tablet presents a really interesting middle ground. You can do a TON more with a 10" screen for example. But, it'd be perfectly acceptable to the user's expectations if the quality were a little less "pro" than Pro Tools, Logic, etc. So think of a tablet sequencer/studio as somewhere in between. Do it! lol - Rich -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
