Got a few good ones today:

"FC when trying to search, view profile, messages, pretty much
everything but news feed and notifications. Fix, this sucks. G2 CM7"

Only problem with this? My app doesn't have search, view profile,
messages, news feeds or notifications. This person clearly meant to
review another app. He also gave me five stars - I'm sure he thinks
more stars are bad.

"Wow! Not what you would expect from <Company X>. Uninstall!"

Well, the app isn't made by Company X. Perhaps he also meant to review
another app, thought my app was made by Company X, or simply hoped
that it would fulfill the unstated expectations.

If it makes you feel any better, Mark, my free app has pages of
scathing comments ranging from clueless users, to competitor mentions,
to complaints that it is not free forever, to complaints about missing
features which are hurtful but actually true. Even with an overall
rating of 4, the recent comments - the ones people see - are dominated
by negativity. The reason is simple - those who like my app have
already bought the paid version and reviewed that. Those who hate it
are the ones most inclined to leave a comment on the demo.

With all of that, you would think that no one would install my app but
they are. Could it be they actually want to find out for
themselves?

I sure wish I could get the Market to remove the stuff that is their
fault:

"Bought licensed version but <it's not on my system>. What a crock."

"How do I access I paid nothing happens no app"

"It will not download to my phone"

These all result from the Market's failure to download, and the users'
ignorance of the fact that they can go to 'My Apps'to try downloading
later.

I get about a message a day on this topic - sometimes more. If they
contact me, I can tell them. But for those who never do, I am stuck
with these comments implying that I am a crook and don't care. It's a
paid version and I can't comment there.
