Hi Shane Isbell! I'm answering your msg dated 02:34 PM 5/16/2011:
I've had the same problem, I'm not sure it is any app that is causing it because I did a factory reset on my N1 (gingerbread), wiping everything and my pics and music appear for a day (so I don't think it is the SDCard), then disappear by the next day. This only starting happening with Gingerbread update. Also my photos become a blurry resolution in the brief time before disappearing. I bought an iPod touch to take pictures now and play music and just do a wifi hotspot through my Android, it works well. My N1 is a little too unreliable these days for media. I've seen other reports of these types of problems scattered about as well.

In my case, there WAS a .nomedia file in the root, and renaming it (for safety, as in assume nothing) did indeed make my images and music visible again. I can't say if it was there when I got the device, never even heard of it until this episode, but I can definitely say that everything worked fine.

For the record, Sprint and HTC support both said I should wipe the card and start over, and I couldn't understand why (so didn't do it :) This experience does explain it, but why yours didn't work? Sorry dunno! Nor about yours going blurry, definitely odd!

Tell me about it!! And it had to be some app, 'cause all of this used to work just fine.

Aha! Yes, figgered that out (that it was recursive) which in itself can be helpful at times, but not so helpful in others. While it would be redundant, these are small files, what zero bytes? I'd rather put one *exactly* where it's needed, in every folder if necessary, just to avoid this problem!

Ah! I'll definitely check that out. I can always copy/paste as needed, but a more graceful interface would be useful. <bit later> Found "Gallery Excluder", seems to work very nicely!

Again, thanks!
