Looking for an app to play my music files on my HTC Evo 4G. Somehow
or another it got messed up (probably my fault :) and the standard
music app, plus other popular ones, including Real and Winamp, cannot
find where the files are located. The files are perfectly fine, they
play in Astro, for example, a file manager app, and they are in the
correct folder on the device (/sdcard/music) but when I open the
player apps, they all say they cannot find any music. The Astro app,
of course, not being a music manager, has absolutely no bells and whistles.
I had the exact same problem with images that were correctly located,
etc, and the Gallery app couldn't see them, but I found QuickPic, an
app that actually has a setting for "Show hidden" and now I can see
them just fine in a photo-specific app. The QuickPic author
apparently doesn't have an audio version--I checked. I'm ass-u-ming
that there should be SOME kind of music app out there that will do
the same thing. Um, free is GOOD :)
I have no solid idea how both of those folders got essentially
hidden, but unless I want to do a factory reset, I just have to live
with it. I've tried to find a solution in a lot of places, now, but
so far nothing has been found, so I'm trying to work with the devil I have :)
Ideas??
