I consider sect. 3.3 of the agreement to address this currently. If you can make the legal argument that what ever you are billing for is a separate product from the app itself, then it could be ok to use an alternate service. I assume subscription services might fall under that category, while unlocking features, minigames, purchasing items would only be augmenting the existing app, thus disallowed. I also assume this would be a per-app legal battle that would turn into an independent licencing agreement if any substantial money was being made. On the other hand, if google has legal language somewhere or argues that they serve as a proxy distributor for any product distributed through an app obtained on their market, then there may be no acceptable use of an alternate in app payment client. I am not a lawyer, btw, in case it wasn't obvious. This is just what I concluded when considering the issue (i.e. That it sounds pretty risky and not worth doing unless I wanted to pay a lawyer. And I dont have anything planed for market release substantial enough to justify that cost.) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
