I don't stand to benefit from the Kindle Fire, because of the minor detail of no GPS, but YMMV. Just be careful, because it can go the other way too. A similar app to mine took the deal in May and got hammered in the Amazon ratings because 1. The servers were overloaded and 2. The freeloaders were evidently not part of his target market, but will take anything that's free. The one big opportunity I can see is for an app that you planned to make free anyway. Go ahead and charge for it for a few months, and wait for the free app a day deal. I've been on conference calls with some guys who make a whole business out of "app flipping" on iPhone. They create a new app and benefit from being in the new list. After a few months, they make it free and benefit from being in all the "newly free" list. Then they use it to promote the next app they are coming up with. (note that neither event generates nearly as much buzz on Android, so I can't really recommend their business model) Nathan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
