I disagree. There is a difference between ethics and legality - what is
morally right is not always the same as what is legally right...

Having said that, I concede the point. You're completely right - if I'm
agreeing to the conditions for distribution on the Google Play market then
it's undeniably wrong to try to bypass those conditions, whether it's based
on morality or legality or whatever.

Upon further reading, my understanding of the terms
<http://www.android.com/us/developer-content-policy.html>are that if you
make any money through your app (with the exception of out-of-band goods or
services), and you distribute that app through Google Play, you must use an
"approved Payment Processor" to collect those moneys. I've struggled to
find a good definition of an "approved Payment Processor" apart from any
party "authorized by
Google<http://www.android.com/us/developer-distribution-agreement.html>".
I suppose you can make the assumption that Google Wallet is the only
payment processor that has been "authorized by Google" so I guess it's
clear enough.

You may be able to argue the language - e.g. if you offer Wallet as well as
an alternative, you are "offer[ing] an authorized Payment Processor as the
payment option" per the conditions, but it's probably not worth the trouble.

Thanks for your comments.
