I'm about to launch my first paid app, and previously haven't paid much attention to Android Market issues and how it all works. So pardon me in advance if this is an obvious or newbie type question.

What I'm wondering is if there is any sort of "copy protection" for apps that are sold through the Google Play store. Obviously only the person that purchases it can download it, get notified of updates, and so on. But can't any of the popular backup apps be used to create an APK file that can then be copied and given out to others?

I'm realistic enough to realize that pirating is always going to occur, but I was wondering in general if there is a level of basic protection provided automatically by the app store.
