The description of that setting is not clear. It states "When reinstalling an application, backed up settings and data will be restored." In situations like that, you will *never* convince a user that it is not your bug. Trying to explain how Google/Android/The Market works is futile if someone can say "well, all these other apps do the right thing . . . " >I don't suppose he gave you that much info? No, no more insight after I sent him the link and asked about what his expectations were. I hope my response wasn't too "snippy or dismissive". He may not be advanced enough to even use the same Google Account as before - many users aren't. It's also possible he thinks that "move to SD Card" is much more literal than it is, as Carl mentions.
