Interesting. How did you contact them? As stated in my OP, I submitted their online "false detection" form, and got nothing. A week later I contacted AndroidPolice, thinking maybe a bit of publicity would light a fire under them. They didn't run it as a story, but one of their folks put me in contact with someone he knows at AVG, and there may finally be some movement from them this morning.
