We're seeing the "Android gold rush". There was the "multi-media" gold rush in the mid-1990s. Then "dot com" gold rush in the late 1990s. And now the "Android gold rush". There were smaller gold rushes with Palm and Pocket PC. Due to Apple's restrictiveness this didn't happen for the iPhone. Funny thing is i have ad companies contacting me about putting ads in one of my large download free apps. Of course they never look at the app just the numbers and don't realize it is for a niche market and in itself sort of an ad for my paid apps.

I have never heard of them.

I think there are a bunch of fly-by-night companies that e-mail everyone on
Google Play.

It seems like every other day I get an e-mail from *so-and-so* asking me to
add *such-and-such* SDK to all my apps.

I think the only ones I use are

Greystripe

Admob

Flurry

Localytics

And I think I heard about all of those from a real person's mouth.

Thanks.

I got an offer from them to use their SDK. So far, they haven't told me
what they're paying.

Anyone have an opinion?

Here's what they sent me:

We're interested helping monetize your users without ads or altering your
UI.

We are Placed, a location measurement company. By integrating our SDK,
which
measures location, Placed will pay you based on the amount of location data
measured through an explicit user opt-in.

If you're interested in learning how you can make extra revenue without
altering your UI, let me know and I can follow-up with additional details
via email. You can also read more about our unique program by reading one
