It is a startup, that means they don't earn any money (yet) so they are 
going to pay developers from the money they got from their investors.
In a 5-6 of months they would probably run out of money and since most of 
these startups pay 60+ there is a good chance you get your money for 1-2 
first months only (after half a year running their SDK).
 
Also a promo article at techcrunch doesn't automatically mean it a great 
service. Many android apps monetization start ups have an article at 
techcrunch.
It is your money so you should decide but the risk is very high.
